The Benefits of Cause

The first bit of good news for while! So I thought I'd share it with the huge population of people that take their precious time to read this immensely popular blog! :D

Myself and a friend of mine, Zizo, decided to create a Youtube Channel a while back in regards to the relief of the Libyan people. We decided to create this channel in order to raise awareness for the Libyan crisis by collecting and uploading videos taken by our Libyan contacts on the ground at such a time where there was no form of international media in the country. Our channel quickly boomed and we became the main source for news agencies such as CNN, BBC, ITN, Reuters, Sky News, The Guardian and many more. With 5-6 videos being uploaded almost every hour.

After suddenly realizing the immense amount of importance we held in showing the atrocities that were occurring in Libya, this pushed on us the motivation to continue our efforts for the greater good. This however involved work like no other; constant phone calls, answering emails, uploading videos, talking to sources, speaking to agencies, all while praying things wouldn't get any worse in an already blood-drenched Libya.

This continued for many days. With brief leaks of information, to total blackouts. Alot of the time we had no idea what was happening in the country, or what Gaddafi and his mercenaries were doing. And all the while we had big news corporations scarping for more information. But what was more distressing is that we had family and friends in the middle of gunfire and quickly increasing deaths. It was often difficult to determine who was dead and who was alive. It was truly traumatizing not knowing whether the person you just finished talking on the phone would be dead in the next 5 minutes.

None the less, we continued. Often sleeping for 6-8 hours over 2 days. As the situation continued things started to get better, reporters began to seep into Libya's borders as everything was beginning to die down. None the less, we plowed on at a reduced rate, until we thought that the reporters could handle the situation.
We now occasionally upload a video form time to time. Anything we feel should been shown by the international media.

Anyway's, onto the good news. After uploading a good 212 videos, Youtube decided to make some money off of us in the midst of receiving so may upload views - And they were kind enough to share it. After calculating the revenue amount, Google sent our share, which was £212.18 - divided between me and Zizo of course.

At a time where I could really use some decent cash - I was over the moon. And made a quick meme to celebrate:

Ahh, nothing like a good ol' meme!
